Greetings!
In last month's newsletter we described our new LezPoints and LezGroups
programs. This month we want to announce our 3rd
Quarter LezPoints winner, and
tell you a little more about our groups.
Mind, Body & Spirit Cruise with Crystal Cruise Lines |
 |
We've booked some group space on a February 2007 7-night
Mexico sailing with Crystal Cruise Lines. There are
many cool things about this particular sailing:
- We've arranged a $100.00 per person cruise
credit for each cruise booked with LezCruise
- Because October is National Cruise Vacation
Month, we will also throw in either an additional
$100 per person cruise credit,
or a $100 per person rebate (payable after the
sailing), for each cruise booked with LezCruise in
October
- The theme of the Cruise is "Mind, Body, Spirit"
so there will be many complimentary yoga, tai chi
and fitness classes
- The cruise is on the Symphony which is going to
be completely refurbished at the beginning of
November. You can read their press release here.
- The fare is pretty good for a Crystal cruise,
which is one of the top luxury lines. Often their
fares run at $2500 - $3000 per person, but this one
is $1890 per person for an outside (obstructed view)
cabin
- Because it is a luxury line, the food and
service are superb, and
- All non-alcoholic drinks are included in the
fare, as well as at least two parties where alcohol
is complimentary.
The cruise departs February
25 from Los Angeles. We are currently the only
LezCruisers booked on this cruise but we're hoping
that we
can talk a few of you in to joining us!!

Lez See Alaska with Royal Caribbean |
 |
This 7-night Alaska cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise
Lines was chosen by our users. There are currently
six lesbians booked on this sailing, and four more
who have marked themselves as interested. When we
saw so much activity, we contacted the cruise line
and reserved some group space.
The cruise line tells us that even though
the ship (Vision of the Seas) doesn't sail until
August 31 of 2007, the sailing is already almost
sold out. We have 8 outside cabins reserved - each
with early seating dining and a $25 per person
cruise credit.
Royal Caribbean will only hold our reserved cabins
until December 1, so if you'd like to join this
group of women, give us a holler before then!!

Cruise the Caribbean with Regent Seven Seas |
 |
We also have some group space on a November 2007
7-night Caribbean sailing with Regent Seven Seas
Cruises. RSSC is another luxury
line, and as such it has many cool amenities, in
addition to what we've been able to set up:
- We've arranged a $100.00 per person cruise
credit for each cruise booked with LezCruise before
March 31, 2007
- Because October is National Cruise Vacation
Month, we will also throw in either an additional
$100 per person cruise credit,
or a $100 per person rebate (payable after the
sailing), for each cruise booked with LezCruise in
October
- The cruise is on the Voyager, which is all-suite
and all-balcony. The minimum room size is 356 sq
feet (room is 306, balcony 50)
- As with Crystal, the food and service are
superb
- almost everything is included in the fare - all
drinks (alcoholic and otherwise), all specialty
restaurants, tips - about the only thing you'll pay
for is shore excursions, spa treatments and internet
service, and
- the itinerary
is an interesting one, with stops in Costa Maya,
Belize, Guatemala, and excursions focused on Mayan
history.
The cruise departs November 30 from Ft Lauderdale.
As with the Crystal cruise, we will be sailing and
hope some of you will join us!!

Lez See Alaska Some More with Holland America |
 |
This 7-night Alaska cruise is another one chosen by
our users. There are currently 14 lesbians booked
on this sailing.
This is a group of women, mostly
from the Phoenix area, ranging in age from from
40ish to 80ish. They met mostly through church and
have been traveling as a group for about 3 years or
so.
"We are administrators, artists, retired, attorney,
med school prof, educator, nurses, coders..." - even
a real live Rosie the Riveter. One of the group's
members says it's "really cool because it's a group
of women who are hugely diverse. Some folks are
really, really active, others are not at all
active." They'd love to have more women join them
and they sound like a lot of fun.
The 14 members of this group have actually booked a
cruise tour, which includes a 6-night land portion
in Fairbanks, Denali and Anchorage before the
7-night cruise, which departs Anchorage for
Vancouver on August 12, 2007. The cruise tour is
already sold out, but there is still some space on
the cruise only portion.
We've managed to secure some group space, but as
this sailing is almost sold out (boy! Alaska sells
out like crazy!) we could only reserve inside
cabins, which means they're only for us - no one
else can buy them.
As of this writing there are still some outside
cabins left (no verandahs), but they are first come
first served.
We're going to put down a deposit for an outside
cabin, because this group sounds like so much fun.
If you think so too, but aren't sure you can swing
it, read the next article

Kind of Interested in a Cruise but Kind of Unsure? |
 |
If you are interested but unsure, you can always put
down a deposit now and get all your money back later
if you change your mind. With most cruises you can
get 100% of your deposit back as long as you cancel
within a stated amount of time (usually 90 - 120
days prior to the cruise.)
Before we went on our first cruise, we researched
and agonized and worried and then finally put down a
deposit. We went on that first cruise and loved it
so much that we took advantage of the on-board
booking bonus which gave us 5% off any cruise we
booked on-board. We didn't know which cruise we
wanted, but we booked something a year away (to give
ourselves plenty of leeway to cancel if necessary).
Later we decided we wanted to go to Alaska and
transferred the 5% discount to an Alaska cruise.
As the deadline for getting our deposit back grew
near, we decided we couldn't afford to go and, with
heavy hearts, we cancelled our cruise. The good news
(and the point of this story) is that we got all our
money back and it came in very handy.

And the Winner is... |
|
The inaugural LezPoints Amazon gift certificate goes
to a LezCruise User from Florida. Our
winner had 28 LezPoints - 4 posted cruises and 8
Community forum posts. Way to go!!
This user's favorite cruise line is Celebrity, and
she has
been on over 12 cruises, including recent cruises to
the Bahamas and the Caribbean. We're hoping to
talk her into posting reviews on these recent
cruises - might as well get started on the next gift
certificate!
