Hey Ladies! Hope you're having a lovely spring. Here in Portland, it's been
a bit odd at times - 75 degrees one weekend, snowing the next - but very pretty.
There are few things as lovely as Portland in the spring.
In this newsletter, we'll be giving you a bit of an update about changes at
LezCruise, and telling you about a cruise we'll be going on in about two weeks!

North to Alaska!
Join us on a Virtual Cruise to the Great White North
So perhaps some of you have noticed that we have a bit of a fondness for
Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Well, happily for us, a few months ago we received
notice of a travel agent seminar taking place on the
RSSC Mariner.
You can imagine our excitement! We immediately signed up, and are set to sail
to Alaska this coming May 27.
As with our
Crystal
Symphony
cruise in December 2006, we plan to
post regularly
to the LezCruise blog
while on board, so that if you wish you can come along on a
Virtual Cruise
with us.
The cruise starts in Vancouver, BC, and ends in Seward, Alaska (close to Anchorage).
Along the way we'll have stops in Victoria (BC), Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and
Sitka, and will cruise past both
Sawyer's Glacier at Tracy Arm
and the Hubbard Glacier.
The Mariner is not a tiny ship, like some of the small-ship eco-tour lines, but
neither is she a behemoth, like some of the mass-market ships, so hopefully we'll
be able to move in pretty close to these Glaciers.
We aren't signed up for any specific shore excursions, either through the ship
or on our own. In Victoria we'll just walk through
Beacon Hill Park and visit
some restaurants we like, and in Sitka I want to walk around the town and
look at the Russian architecture and visit some historical sights. Beyond that,
we figure we'll play it by ear, based mainly on how many other ships are in port.
For instance, we know that a bunch of other ships will be in port with us in
Ketchikan, so we'll probably stay on the ship that day.
We are both very excited as the time draws near, and hope you'll enjoy reading
along with us.

LezCruise Update
Where We're at with Our Proposed Changes
In our last newsletter,
we told you about some changes we were planning to
LezCruise. Basically, we want to remake the website so that it no longer
functions as an online travel agency, but is simply a resource for women
to find cruises that have other women on them. The second part of the
plan is to reach out to travel agents, to try to get more cruises posted
so that the site will be a more useful resource.
When the newsletter went out last winter, it seemed perfectly reasonable
to expect to have made all the changes to the website by the following
spring, and that we'd be able to announce the transition and provide
more details in this newsletter.
Alas - best laid plans and all. We have had a very busy last couple of
months, so the big change-over is still pending. We'll keep you posted...
